We love them. We hate them. We can’t live without them. But sometimes we just have to yell *$#%@*+ to our computer because it’s so *$#%@*+ sloooow.
Almost 40 percent of computer users admit they have cursed at that infernal machine at one time or another, according to a worldwide survey conducted by IT security experts Avira. This has a name: computer rage. (Yes, it’s real! Look it up in Wikipedia.)
But here’s the thing: While swearing at your PC may make you feel better for a minute or two, it doesn’t solve the problem, does it? We have some tricks and tips that will actually help.
• Clear your cache.
Your Internet browser stores snapshots of information about the webpages you visit so the next time you go there, the page will load more quickly. But after a while, that cache resembles a clogged drain. Chug…chug. And it needs to be cleared. The first step in speeding up that lagging PC is to clear your cache. And while you’re at it, empty the trash can.
If you don’t know how to clear your cache, go to any search tool and type in: “how to clear your cache in XXX” where XXX is the name of your browser, such as Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer.
• Give your PC a check-up.
Even if you’re not a tech wizard, you can easily and quickly identify what is clogging your hard drive and slowing down your computer with Advanced System Care or use our special service Comp Service – Computer Optimization. This simple-to-use program analyzes how to improve your PC’s performance and then runs a detailed diagnostic to identify and fix any issues it may be having. This is all done in the background, so you can continue with business as usual while your PC is optimized.
